It's my favorite time of the year: planner release season! This is my Christmas...literally. I buy my planners as a gift to myself. There's so many wonderful planner companies out there, and it was hard to narrow it down and choose exactly what will make my life run smoother in 2024 (I hope!). The three planners I chose are:
Laurel Denise Planner - Horizontal, Sunday Start
Passionate Penny Pincher Home Planner
MaskeLife Goal Planner
Why would I need three planners?
For me, I can no longer fit my planning requirements into one planner. Between homeschooling, chores, work, my blog, Bible study, exercise, taekwondo...it doesn't fit nicely into one book. Most people absolutely can make one planner work perfectly for them. But for those of you who have a busy schedule and numerous responsibilities in all of your categories, using multiple planners might work better for you.
For example, if you're a student who also works full-time, or even part-time, you might consider having a student planner for assignments and test dates and a horizontal for regular life: work schedule, outings with friends, exercise, home tasks, etc. Another example would be for someone who works full-time, but also has a busy schedule outside of the office. You might use an hourly planner to keep up with work meetings and tasks, and a vertical, three-box planner for your home life. You could have different categories: home tasks, workout schedule, meal plan, appointments and outings, etc.
What is my plan for my planners?
I'm using my Laurel Denise planner for my blog and business. The unique layout will allow me to see my monthly blog post schedule right alongside my weekly to-do list needed for each post. I can also plug in business projects when needed as well. I really love that I was able to add a dashboard at the front. It will be easy for me to jot down ideas as they come to me, and divide projects into manageable chunks.
I've used the Passionate Penny Pincher Home Planner before: In 2021 and 2022. I didn't purchase one for 2023, and honestly, I regretted it. What I love most about this planner are the included home checklists each week. They really help me stay on top of chores, and it's so motivational checking everything off as I go. I will also be using the Home Planner to write down appointments and tasks not related to my blog and business. Doctor visits, outings with Z and B, bill due dates, date nights, events, etc.
I've used Powersheets for four years now, but I decided to try something new for 2024. I've been considering the MaskeLife Goal Planner for a few years now, but I loved Powersheets so much, I stuck with that. I'm excited to try out MaskeLife. It doesn't have quite as much goal prep, but I think I'll like that. I'm a point where I don't need quite as much direction to figure out what I want my goals to be. They're usually about the same every year anyway. It's also different because in addition to being a goal planner, it's also a weekly planner. I'll be using the weekly portion to really plan out HOW and WHEN I'll work on my goals, which I think will be really helpful for me.
And that's it! I will be posting reviews of each of these planners as they come in, and I can't wait to share them with you. What planner(s) are you choosing for 2024? Let me know in the comments. Happy Planning!
